September 27, 2021

Coordination Meeting to Mapping Current Asset Recovery Technical Assistance Projects in the Western Balkans was held on September 27th 2021.

The objective of the meetings was to raise awareness of current and future planned asset recovery projects in the Western Balkan region and discuss the benefit of convening a regular coordination meeting of technical assistance providers focused on asset recovery in the Western Balkans.

The focus was on domestic and international asset recovery, specifically financial investigation freezing and seizing, asset management, confiscation and forfeiture, international cooperation, asset disposal including re-use, and the collection of asset recovery statistics.

The meeting was followed by the report that mapped regional asset recovery projects aiming to identify gaps for further support to beneficiaries and avoid duplication of efforts by technical assistance providers operating in the region.

More information about this event can be found on the Regional Asset Recovery Platform.
