What roles do women play in illicit finance across the Western Balkans, and why are they so often invisible in the data? This document summarises a regional study that explores the gendered dynamics of organised crime and illegal financial flows in six countries, revealing patterns of both involvement and impact. It highlights how criminal networks exploit gender stereotypes and how institutions can respond more effectively. Produced by the AIRE Centre with support from the UK Government, the report calls for urgent, gender-sensitive reforms.
